Because blogging sounds better than studying...

Hinata is getting a little bit bigger - she's up to 44 pounds, but lately hasn't been finishing all her food so hopefully that means the growth spurt is done :)

Her first experience with snow - you can tell from her nose that she found it quite delicious

Merry Christmas!

Halloween a.k.a. Sugoicon 2008

Haha, well for once an anime convention was on Halloween so we had a legitimate reason for dressing up. At least that meant the guy at the front desk of the hotel didn't really think anything of us.

So, remember (I'm sure you don't) at the last con I bought witch Yuki and warned you might see it again soon?

Here's a reminder since that was a while ago

Welp, here's my best attempt:

LOL, well it was fun, even if it's not an exact match. You can't see very well under the cloak but I did sew my top and skirt, and I also crafted the wand. Oh, Garrick is also a character from the same show but all his stuff was from Goodwill and our closet:

And more pictures of people nobody knows dressed up like characters from shows nobody watches, lol.

Maka, from Soul Eater... she made her sword... amazing

Chrono... also from Soul Eater. Awesome.

Matt and Mello from Death Note - yay! ^_^

Miyazaki girls... I think they were in the costume contest but we didn't see that

Akatsuki!!!!!

Hmmm, well I still need to take a picture of this con's figurine purchase... she's super cute but probably won't be seeing her again, oh well. Also, hopefully I can find a better pictures of my incredible sewing skills...

Colts v. Ravens

Went to the Ravens vs. Colts game last Sunday. It was our first time in the new stadium!

We got there early and the roof wasn't open yet - but about an hour before the game we saw that it was starting to open!

There is also a huge side window that opens to downtown - it makes you really dizzy when you approach it.

The view changes depending on which floor you're on - I think this was the second floor

The view from our seats - really not bad considering how high up we were :)

More Hinata

We were actually home during the day and were able to play outside for awhile

The kids next door were playing with a playground ball and she was fascinated.

Still watching...

She already loves having her belly rubbed

Hinata!!

Alright, here are the promised pictures. Yes, it is a day early, but the vet said they couldn't fix her today since she has an upper respiratory illness. So we were able to bring her home but now we have to keep her separated from Kelsey for 10 days since she is still contagious while on her medicine. Um, she's coughed like 3 times all day. Whatever. If she gets better in a few days we won't worry about it.

She is super hyper and wiggily like a puppy so she's probably still pretty young. But super cute and very, very smart! ^_^

She takes after Xeno in that is is difficult to get a good picture because of her black face and eyes. So Kelsey is still the photogenic one. Although it's partly because Hinata can't sit still for more than 2.4 seconds. Also she thinks she is a lap dog and tries to flop herself directly on your lap if you kneel down :)

Garrick taught her to sit

She's wondering where Garrick has gone :)

Wow, her legs are soo long and not super puffy, lol

I tried so hard to get her to look at me. She isn't used to her harness yet and kept trying to shake it off

Hehe, her ears are wiggly!

New dog!

So since Garrick is now on a regular 8-hour workday we decided to adopt another dog. We went to the Humane Society (they didn't have much) and then to Animal Control where we got Kelsey - success!

Anyways, here's her intake picture from 2 weeks ago - you can't tell her cuteness from it :) She was a stray and judging from her still-sharp teeth she's about 6 months?

She is clearly a German Shepherd mix, so there is a definite potential for humongocity but her paws aren't terribly big nor her head, so hopefully she'll just be medium like Kelsey. Also her hair is slightly longer and much softer than a german. She's about 20 lbs and kept trying to get up into my lap! And unlike Kelsey she is excellent at fetch with both the tennis ball and frisbee!

No name yet... we're working on that - we have until we pick her up from getting spayed on Thursday <3

Irish Fest 2008

We saw the sheepherding dogs :)

Stopped to watch a few concerts

They were good

This group was awesome - they even played the song from the end of Napoleon Dynamite!

I couldn't get this leprechaun to turn around! But he was still pretty great
